WHAT

The Chris Gardner Foundation brings the nationwide Back 2 High School Permission 2 Dream tour to Lamar High School on Feb. 14 from 9:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. The speaking engagement, presented with support from Smart Financial in partnership with the Smart Financial Foundation, is part of Chris Gardner’s goal of inspiring over 100,000 students to achieve their dreams.

Gardner— entrepreneur, inspirational speaker and author of “The Pursuit of Happyness,” which was the inspiration for the motion picture of the same name starring Will Smith— has taken his message of self-reliance and positivity to millions of people globally and is now focusing on inspiring the next generation in the United States. He will discuss the lessons he learned as a child and how every student has the same opportunity to reach their goals.
